Blizzard Hates Me

Posted in Achievements, Humor, Hunter with tags , , , , , on August 26, 2009 by sylus

Yes, I am under the impression hat Blizzard does not want me to play Alliance. After posting my intentions to reroll Alliance, and after server maintenance of course, I was able to log into the game. I figured I’d check who was on in the guild. Onto Hordeside I went…No one was on…As I’m getting ready to log out, I see that I had received an item. Cracked Egg. I thought to myself, cracked egg? OOOOOO, Oracles egg, gotcha. So, lets cancel this logout timer, and see what I got…another tickbird hatchling? A shiny new pet cobra? Probably just another 8 or so aged yoke…yuk. As I right clicked the egg, to my utter shock, amazement, and dumbfounded-bleery-eyed-ness(new word, just made it up) there it was. Reins of the Green Proto Drake. I was speechless. I had been going all the way out to Sholizar Basin for Months. It was the first quest line I did when I hit 78ish. I’ve been at this for sooooo long. I counted last night. I have 7 tickbirds, 3 cobra’s and I’ve saved my yokes in the bank, I figured I’d hang onto it all until I got the drake. I had 76 STINKING AGED YOKES!!!! That isn’t counting all of the pets I gave away to guildies.  That throws my total mount number up to 70, and I think I’m out of easily obtainable mounts…

So Now, as I’m contemplating a huge game changer for me (rerolling mains on an alliance server) so when Cataclysm goes live, I’ll have had time to save up for some heirloom gear for the Worgen army that is going to take over my character log in screen. Yeah. I’m doing it all for the Worgens… Back to my story, BLIZZARD FINALLY GIVES ME THE STINKING MOUNT!!!! I’m all out convinced that Blizzard either, A. Hates me, B. Doesn’t want me to play Alliance, or C. IS MESSING WITH MY HEAD!!!!

I’ll leave you, the loyal 4theHorde readers with this for today.

Thanks Blizzard, you make my life Miserable!

I’m going with C.

For the Horde:Rise of the Lycan…I mean Worgen, I meant Worgen!

This is going to be a very tough decision, okay, not really. I’ve had my mind made up for weeks. I told Nim that if the Worgen were released as the next alliance race, then I would definitely be switching sides to play the new race. I’ll admit, I’ve always been pretty Hordecore. I mean I’ve had a hard time playing alliance. If you remember a few months back we took a brief stint playing alliance after an april fools joke went wrong, but It never took hold. I mean, I never got a toon above 15. Now here I am, ready to switch sides for a race of werewolf’s?!?! Yeah, I am! I’m totally not abandoning my boy’s here Horde side, but I have to take this opportunity to get an alliance toon to 80. Yeah, I’m prepping the way for a few worgen. If I can get this new alliance toonto 80, I’ll be able to gather a few pieces of leveling gear for the new guys! Now, Our good friend Ace, aka, Rozjin has been talking up a guild for a bit now, Crits and Giggles. So, I’ve got a Dwarf Pally doin a bit o’ damage in their neck of the woods. Tonight I’ll introduce him to the guild,a nd see if they’ll take another 4thehorderefugee. I’m guessing it won’t be a problem, I’ll still be around for guildies as needed, but the future Sy project for the time being is prepping the way for worgen…and I mean WORGEN, I mean, LOOK AT THESE GUYS!!!!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY! I totally ripped this photo off the webs, but they are werewolf’s! I’m a sucker for werewolf’s! I’ve been trying to let Nimrock, also my DM in D&D to let me roll up a worgen for our next campain for months! So to find I can play these guys in my favorite online game, wow. BLOWN AWAY!

So, sinse this here blog is called 4thehorde, I guess I can update my alliance happenings at my personal blog, The World/Mind of Sylus.

Don’t worry, I’m not totally slacking off here. I’ll keep up with the Hordeside fun too. When guildies need me, I’ll be there. And I’ll take screenshots!@! I gotta have some stuffs for this here blog right, eh fikkle? eh? Okay, I’m off to the races, ala homework style. Yeah, I’m back in school in other news. Boo right? Right. Catch ya on the Flip.

Gozz is Back

Posted in Hunter, Pets with tags , , , , on August 16, 2009 by sylus

With the release of 3.2 I was feeling the itch to bring my hunter back from the grave. Well, not the real grave, but Earthen Ring. I had transferred Gozz off of Dawnbring er to focus on other toons, and to allow me to play on ER with some friends. This really never panned out, and Gozz sat over there all by his lonesome. By now everyone has heard about Skoll, the new spirit beast that happened to fall into our laps with 3.2. That was my real motivation for bringing him back to dawnbringer. If I was going to be searching for him, I would want to be where everybody knows my name…yeah, like the cheers jingle.  Well, I was away the week 3.2 hit, so i wasn’t among the first to get him this time, but I do have him. That’s right, I have all three spirit beast pets. I am a glutton for punishment. Now what do I do if another rare pet drops? get rid of one of my beloved pets? I mean come on, three spirit beasts, the ghost hydra, and the LSD wasp of doom…I can’t part with any of em! You can’t tame the wasp or the hydra anymore, and the spirit beasts are like badges of honor to a hunter like me! Yeah, I know, I’m still beast master, but hey, I LOVE THESE PETS!!! Am I asking for more stable slots? well, it would be nice, but most of all I guess I’d just like a way to keep getting more and more rare pets! I’m sort of a collector. My only real hunter regret is not getting a ghost wolf when I could…. Anyway, here’s a great shot of me with the new spirit beast, aptly named Loqtar! (fyi, I’m not a dwarf, just disguised as one in the picture, blue’s a good color for Gozz!)

Until Next time,

What Is Up? Random Ramblings and Future Stuff

Lok’tar Friends!

Well, to be honest, RL has been the biggest culprit of monopolization of my time lately. Specifically, moving across the country, buying a new house, starting in allmost immediately in a new job. Things have been hectic. The past few days have been much better for getting back in game, seeing all the new content that went live with 3.2.

On that note, I’ve been working on a number of toons lately. Brak, my Enh Shaman and current main, has been hard at work on the tourney dailies, trying to finish off the last two races to be able to get his crusader title and the benefits that go with it. I’ve sporadically been doing Wintergrasp, but my past efforts have paid off, as Brak was able to pick up the Hateful Shoulders for his Enhance set and the WG belt for his resto set. In addition that, Brak has been into the new 5-man (regular) a few times, getting a new set of Enhance boots.

My second focus has been on Kor, my fourth level 80, a Death Knight who I’ve given a strict PvP focus too, specifically with Wintergrasp. Kor was levelled full-on Unholy, and continued to be Unholy in his PvP adventures throughout his first few weeks at 80. The recent (nerfs) changes to DK necessitated some talent changes. I also wanted to give him more options for pvp specifically, as his build kept some functionality that was specifically designed for utility, like farming. I looked around for builds that were PvP specific, bit didn’t find much. I ended up settling on a 0/36/35 DW build. At first I was extremely unhapy with its perfoormance but decided to give it some time before making a final decision. Kor’s been doing PvP and his tourney dailies. He also did the new 5-man once and pick up a new chest piece, which happened to be the same day that he also picked up the Hateful helm, which goes nicely with his shoulders. Next up, he’ll either be getting the gloves or pants, depending on need, and then he’ll follow up with some neck pieces and rings.

Lastly, I’ve decided to join some guildies who’ve decided to begin rolling twinks in the 29 bracket. My 29 Druid from Coilfang was pulled out of mothballs as well as a 22 (stopping at 29) Rpgue that I haven’t played in a very long time.

As for the blog, I know posts have been extremely sparse as of late, and I do want that to change. I’m not going to promise a specific schedule, unfortunately, since I won’t be able to pin down exactly when I’ll be free to write from week to week, but I will be trying to come back to it more than I have over the last few months. As you may or may not know, 4theHorde is co-authored by several of my close friends (and guildies). I don’t want to commit them to posting more than they have of late, but I will be sending them invitations to rekindle their blogging as well. I swear the invitations are in the mail!!!

So up-and-coming I’ll be doing some class specific stuff for the three classes I’m currently playing (Shaman, DK, and leveling/twinking Druid). Specifically, I’m going to take a look at some of these:

My current Enh spec
My current Resto spec (Shaman)
My current DK pvp spec
My planned DK tank spec when he dual specs
Possible changes to my DK pvp spec if I feel it’s necessary
My Feral Druid twink spec
A planned Feral levelling spec (for another Druid)
Why I stopped playing half my 80’s (Hunter/Paladin)

That’s just to name a few… Something else I may try to get rolling in conjuction with those is a bit of a mini-series style set of posts going. Specifically, Slig’s take on Shaman from an Ele/Resto perspective; Sylus’ take on DK’s from a PvE dps/tank perspective (oops, think I just ooted him); Nim’s take on endgame Druids specifically looking at the Bovine Branches and the BoomBoom Cow side of things (Resto/Bal); and lastly Pie’s take on the two classes I stopped playing: Prot Pally and XY Hunter (where x=s, y=v or x=m, y=m or x=b, y=m)… Ya, I have no idea what spec his hunter is. >.>

All of those will likely be individual author permitting of course. All of that being said, I’m hoping to revive our site as a place where casual gamers can come and hang out and talk about the thing that matters most in the World (of Warcraft)… SHENANIGANS!!!
